Chambers County Bringing Home the Blue Ribbons

This past week all 5 of our area high school cheerleading squads including LaFayette and Chambers Academy competed in camps at Auburn University & Troy University. To say they made our county proud is saying it mildly. A total of 43 Cheerleaders were selected as All-American, Seven were selected as AISA All-State, 9 Pin-It-Forward winners and one Crown Leader Trophy recipient as well as a First Place Mascot in the Varsity Division and one Mushy Award in the JV classification.

The LaFayette High Bulldogs Cheerleaders recently competed in the UCA Auburn University Cheer Camp. Lafayette had four All-Americans D’Karia Burton, Audriona Finley, Jeleah Carwell & LaJada McCullough. The squad won Blue Superior Ribbons for Camp Dance and Defense Sideline Cheer. Lafayette also received the Crown Leader Trophy and Spirit Stick Award. Congratulations to LHS Cheerleader coaches Melissa Milford(Varsity) and Jessica Hudson (JV).

Four Lafayette High Cheerleaders were chosen to be UCA All-Americans and will participate in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade this December in Hawaii. D’Karia Burton, Audriona Finley, Jeleah Carwell & LaJada McCullough. Also, Cheer Captain Madyson Fuzzell will participate in the Varsity Spirt Spectacular at Walt Disney World in November.

As for the Chambers Academy Varsity Cheerleaders, they attended the UCA Troy University Camp and competed in the large division. Three Chambers Cheerleaders won UCA All-Americans: Gabby Lamb, Harrisyn Reames, and Jordan Miles.

Gabby Lamb & Jordan Miles were also selected as AISA All Starts. Additionally, Gabby Lamb and MeLeah Tigner won the Pin-It-Forward award while Talley Carter was a Jump Off Finalist (Top 3). The Varsity placed 4th in Camp Dance. Congratulations to Chambers Academy Cheerleader Coach Lori Phillips.

The Chambers Academy Junior Varsity Cheerleaders also attended the UCA Troy University Camp and had four All-Americans: Anna Kate Jackson, Cambryn Still, Cate Allen & Trenise Trgner

The squad placed 5th in the Cheer Routine. Congratulations to Chambers Academy Junior Varsity Cheerleader Coach Katie McElvy.
