Chambers County College & Career Fair 2022

On Wednesday, August 31st, high school students across Chambers County attended the annual fall college and career fair. This year’s fair was hosted at Lanett High School with the event rotating each year. More than 250 seniors from various high schools across Chambers County were in attendance.

This annual college and career fair was a big success with many seniors enthusiastically exploring options from four-year universities, two-year community colleges, technical schools, military options, and business and industry employment opportunities. The event was sponsored by ALACRAO or the Alabama Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers.

Founded in 1936, ALACRAO is a nonprofit organization that seeks to contribute to the advancement of higher education in the state of Alabama.

Seniors from all three Chambers County High Schools attended throughout the morning with representation from Inspire Academy, LaFayette High School, and Valley High School.

The event cycled students throughout the College & Career Fair with many students receiving information and giveaways to spark their interest. Nearly 50 separate vendors hosted booths to share their information with students who explored postsecondary, technical, military, or business and industry options. Both large and small universities and colleges were represented as well as local industries such as East Alabama Health, Hyundai Transys, Go Build Alabama, Milliken, Duracell, West Rock, Knauf, John Soules Foods, and Challenge Manufacturing. Employers were providing students with additional career-to-work opportunities for life after graduation in May of 2023.
