Chambers County voters headed to the polls with a huge turnout in critical races including Sheriff as Republican Jeff Nelson defeated Democratic opponent Jeff Blackstone. Nelson succeeds longtime Sheriff Sid Lochart who will be retiring at the end of his term. Lockhart was been Sheriff in Chambers County for an unprecedented seven terms. Alabama House District 38 Rep. R Debbie Wood was re-elected with 89% of the vote securing 9,144 to Libertarian Charles Temm's 1,158.
