City Of Lanett Awarded Grant Of $2,600 For Juneteenth Celebration

LANETT- Earlier this month, Alabama State House Rep. Debbie Wood presented the City of with a check for $2,600 through the Alabama Tourism Department for Legislative Tourism Grants for the annual Juneteenth Celebration. Lanett Parks and Recreation Director Trent McCants humbly accepted the check on behalf of the city.

Alabama Tourism is a huge industry, but because of COVID, people stopped traveling. Fast forward to today, and people are getting out more. So many people are on 85 and are getting off the exits. This is the first year the state of Alabama has offered tourism grants for individual representatives, and senators. I reached out to the CCDA, and we agreed that the Juneteenth Celebration fit that tourism niche", said Wood

The Alabama Tourism Department has allocated $2,730,000 statewide to promote tourism.
