VALLEY- On Monday, the City of Valley's Mayor, and Council meeting took a bold step in its frustration against the city's solid waste provider Am Waste, and has decided to begin taking bids later this year.
"We have been getting tons of complaints on solid waste, and with the council's approval, I would like to move forward with bidding that out, and getting ready to start services this winter. I would like to give people plenty of time to get their bids in", said City of Valle's Planning & Development Director Travis Carter.
The Valley Council voted in favor, and in support of the measure.
The County, as well as the city of Lanett recently renewed be it with hesitation their contract with Am Waste. That contract is good for three years.
