Mrs. Iris S. Yarbray, age 94, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Sunday, August 21st, 2022 in LaFayette, Alabama.
Mrs. Yarbray was born on October 10th, 1927 in Langdale, Alabama. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a loyal servant of God who was quick to assist someone in need and loved to be with her family and church family. She enjoyed her daily lunch trips to China Moon for over twenty years and during that time, became great friends with the owners.
Mrs. Yarbray is survived by her daughters, Kathy Elliott and Sandra McManus (Terry), both of the Lake Harding Community; grandchildren, Kenneth W. Elliott and Angelia D. McLain; great- grandchildren, Kenny Elliott, Jr., Erica Elliott, Kristin Elliott, Morgan McLain, and Andrew Huffman; five great-great-grandchildren; several loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Yarbray; grandson, Chuck McDowell; sisters, Faye Hornsby, Betty Hasty, and Jane Hanon.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 24th, 2022 at 3:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow in Langdale Cemetery. Dr. Kenneth Overby will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 PM (EST) until the service hour at the funeral home.
