Mr. James LaFayette Samples, 91, a lifelong resident of Valley, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at the George H. Lanier Nursing Home in Valley, Alabama, where he had resided for the past nine years.
Mr. Samples was born on May 22, 1930, in Chambers County, Alabama to the late Charlie Warner Samples and Minnie Francis Jones Samples. He was also preceded in death by his wife Louise Nannie Williams Samples.
He was one of the founding members of the Fredonia Community Holiness Church and was very active in the church before his health declined.
He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was retired from West Point Pepperell where he had worked in both the Shawmut and Lanett Mills.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 2:00P.M. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley with interment following in Hillcrest Cemetery. Brother Milford McClain officiating. Visitation will be on Friday beginning at 1:00P.M. EDT.
