Keith Wayne “Kemo” Smith Obituary



Keith Wayne “Kemo” Smith, age 66, of LaFayette, Alabama passed away on Saturday, October 8th, 2022 at his residence.


Mr. Smith was born in Rainsville, Alabama on November 21th, 1955. He was a 1974 graduate of Plainview High School. He was very athletic and excelled playing football and basketball. He was a big Alabama football fan and enjoyed rifle and bow hunting. He was a wonderful husband, a great father, and a loving Paw Paw. He loved his family.


Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 42 years, Julie Smith; children, Morganna White (Tyler), Melissa Brown, and Michael Houge; grandchildren, Ava Brown, Xander Brown, Olivia White, and Adalynn White; siblings, Cindy Dukes, Paul Kenneth Smith, Jr. (Catherine), Charles Smith, James Smith (Rebecca), Beverly Noles (Cates), Karla Todd (Tim); close friends, Randy, Fred, and Charles.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Kenneth and Elma Smith; siblings, Paulette Barber, Ronald Smith, and Linda Smith; brother-in-law, Harold Dukes; sister-in-law, Bobbie Smith.


Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022 at 2:00 PM (CDT) at the graveside in Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery in LaFayette. Pastor Cates Noles will officiate. Mr. Smith’s family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 PM (CDT) until the service hour at Sandy Ridge United Methodist Church.
