LAFAYETTE- On Wednesday, Lafayette Police held a press release regarding a missing woman in the area.
"On January 31, Lafayette Police Department was notified of a missing senior citizen, Ms. Cleo Jackson, age 83, was reported last seen by her daughter on January 30th at 4 pm. Lafayette Police Department with assistance from the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office, ALEA, The Chambers County Multijurisdictional Drug Task Force, and the Lafayette Fire Department began a search of the area. Ms. Jackson was located by helicopter in a wooded area near her residence. Unfortunately, by the time she was located Ms. Jackson had passed away. Lafayette Investigators came to the scene and began an investigation", said LaFayette Police Chief George Rampey
At this time there is no indication of foul play in the death of Ms. Jackson.
