Lanett Police Respond To Shooting At Intersection Of N. Lanier Ave. & Cherry Drive



LANETT- On Tuesday, Lanett Police responded to a shooting just blocks away from the Police Station and City Hall just after 11:30 am Est. The Chambers Ledger spoke to Interim Police Chief Richard Casner who told us that the situation was controlled and monitored. Lanett Police issued a press release just after 3 pm EST. to local media.


"On November 29, 2022, at approximately 1150 am Lanett Police Department received a call that a subject arrived by personal vehicle at Lanett Fire and EMS with multiple gunshot wounds. Upon arrival, officers met with the victim who stated that he had been shot at the intersection of North Lanier Avenue and Cherry Drive. Officers responded to the scene and located the crime scene. The victim was provided medical treatment and transported to a trauma center for further treatment.


This incident appeared to be targeted in nature and there is no perceived danger to the community at this time", said Lanett Pd in a press release.
