Johnson Brown Funeral Home announces the passing of Mrs. Jeanette Tilley, age 84, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Diversicare in Lanett, Alabama.


Jeanette was born on June 19, 1938, in Carrollton, Georgia to the late Homer Bohannon and Nellie Lester Parsons. Jeanette was also preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Bryson Avery Tilley, daughter, Deborah Lowery, sister, Janice Bleier, and a granddaughter, Brandi Clifton.


Jeanette was affectionately known as “Maw Maw” to many, “Aunt Nat” to her nieces and nephews, and “Miss Jeanette” to those in the church.


She was a lady who never met a stranger. She was a member of Happy Valley Baptist Church for 39 years. During that time she served as a 2nd grade Sunday School teacher for over 30 years, a member of the Happy Citizens group, the WMU group, and the baptism committee for several years. Jeanette was also on the kitchen – benevolence committee, always lending a hand wherever it was needed. She loved working and serving her church and the Lord, Jesus Christ.


Jeanette is survived by a son, Greg (Wynette) Tilley, a daughter, Kathy Nelson, and a son, Randy Tilley. She is also survived by her grandchildren Brian (Gail) Clifton, Scott Clifton, Amanda Hall, Crystal (David) Smith, Kevin Nelson, Nikki Washington, Leigh (Clayton) Garner, and Jennifer (Vicente) Jimenez; 21 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.


Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 8, 202211:00 A.M. at Happy Valley Baptist Church at10:00 A.M. 11:00 A.M. EDT with interment following in Hillcrest Cemetery. The Reverend John Samanie and the Reverend Floyd Aikens officiating. Visitation will be Friday morning at the church from 10:00 A.M. EDT until the service hour.


The family would like to extend a special thanks to Diversicare Nursing Home in Lanett, the nurses, and staff who took such very good care of Jeanette for the last 2.5 years of her life. She was surrounded by many nurses and friends that loved her with a heart of gold.


Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in her memory to Happy Valley Baptist Church.

Mr. Odilo Villarreal, III age 59, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Friday, July 1st, 2022 at his residence.


Mr. Villarreal was born on July 24th, 1962 in Mercedes, Texas. He was a member of the Lanett Church of Christ. He was a sweet and loving man who was a good husband and a devout Christian.


Mr. Villarreal is survived by his wife, Dottie Villarreal; son, Dustin Villarreal (Lane); daughter, Chelsea Wagner (Calvin); mother, Juanita Villarreal, grandson, Thomas Wagner; brothers, Cahin Villarreal and Ephrain Villarreal.


He was preceded in death by his father, Odilo Villarreal, II, and his daughter, Griselda Villarreal.


Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 8th, 2022 at 3:00 PM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow in Johnson Memorial Gardens. Following the funeral, a Celebration of Life service for Mr. Villarreal will be held at 4:00 PM (EDT) at the Lanett Church of Christ. Minister Jeff Clevenger will officiate.

Mrs. Judy Ann Weldon McClain, 74 a resident of LaFayette, AL passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Bethany House Hospice in Auburn. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM EST Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley with Rev. Rusty Letson officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfax Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM EST at the funeral home.


Survivors include her son, Robert Samuel “Sam” Bridges; brothers, Jimmy Weldon & Frank Weldon; sister, Cynthia Hunt; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Jackson “Jack” Weldon & Genell Bane Weldon; husband, David McClain; brother, Andrew Weldon, and sister, Barbara Johnson.


Mrs. McClain was born in Langdale, AL on December 20, 1947. She worked as a nurse for local nursing homes and hospitals. She was a lover of anything purple and liked watching classic television reruns. She was a member of Happy Valley Baptist Church.

Patricia Ann Rouse, 80, a resident of Chambers County, AL passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at home. She was born on December 22, 1941, in Newnan, GA to the late Margaret Francis Thrower Cofield & William Milfred Stancill. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Joseph William Boatright and,, brother, Randall Cofield of Newnan, GA.


She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Watts; children, Donna Lynne Stancill Norred, Danny James Rouse (Sally) & Kimberly Ann Watts Bowling (Rusty); 12 grandchildren and 14, and great-grandchildren.


She retired from Pointe Magnolia Assisted Living in Newnan. She was a graduate of Western High School and as a teenager worked the soda fountain at the local drugstore and also was a “Candy Striper” at Newnan Hospital. She then worked as a seamstress for Carter’s Baby Clothing in Albany, GA, Playtex in Newnan, and Bibb Mfg. in Sargent, where she received her Instructor’s Certificate for Sewing. She lived and worked at Wolfe Creek Resort in Whitesburg, GA, and, also worked at Wapakoneta Resort in Ohio.


She was known for talking, eating, doing crossword puzzles, and camping in previous years. She was well-loved, by her family and friends.


The family will hold a private memorial service which will be planned sometime after her cremation.
