Johnson Brown announces the passing of the following:


Russell Alan Yarbrough, Sr. was born January 8, 1964, in Albany, Georgia to Terry Yarbrough, Sr. and the late Sharon Lenoir Yarbrough. He passed away on October 5, 2022, at the age of 58 at his home in Beulah.


Russell was a well-known auto mechanic in Valley and Opelika area.

He was preceded in death by his mother Sharon and the mother of his children Regina Yarbrough.


He is survived by his sons Russell, Jr. (Tiffany) and Terry (Stephanie), and his grandchildren Aeson, Ryder, Jaxon, Riley, and Tanner Yarbrough. He is also survived by his father Terry, Sr. (Anne), his siblings Terry Yarbrough, Jr. “Buz” (Tracey), Amy Yarbrough, Stephanie Sanders, and Jason Sanders and a very special friend Serena Hutchinson and her family.


The family will have a memorial service at a later date.

June Henderson, 71, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at the West Georgia Medical Center in Lagrange.


Mrs. Henderson was born in West Point, Georgia on June 30, 1951 to the late James Robert Moore and Jessie Swann. She was also preceded in death by her husband Buck Henderson, father, Emmett Swann, brother, Bobby Moore, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Lucy Henderson, Goddaughter, Rita Bledsoe, brother-in-law, Bryant Thompson, and one of her best friends, Tina Landreth.


June was co-owner of Henderson and Henderson Concrete.


June spent the last years caring for family members and friends including her elderly mother and her mother-in-law, Lucy Henderson. June also developed a close relationship with Leland, her great nephew, spending time with him and making sure he was always at Springwood for events and extracurricular activities.


She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Henderson-Wood (Joel); best friend, Johnny Landreth; siblings, Ann Messer (Billy), Norine Moore, Laura Smith (James), Nita Thompson, Brenda Gillilan (Bobby), Emily Rivera, sister-in-law, Nancy Howard (Gray); her loyal Schnauzer “Lucas” and her grandson, “Omar” the pig.


Graveside services will be Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. EDT at Harmony Memorial Cemetery. The Reverend Rusty Letson officiating. Her family will be receiving friends at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley on Friday, October 7, 2022, from 6:00 P.M. EDT until 8:00 P.M. EDT.

Mrs. Robin Lynn Abercrombie Fuller, 59, of Lanett, AL died Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.


A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2022, from 2:00 P.M. EDT until 4:00 P.M. EDT at her daughter's home. Please contact the family for directions or an address.

She was born on September 7, 1963, at Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley, AL., and was a graduate of Lanett High School.


She is survived by her children, Brett & Bonnie Fuller of Dallas, GA; Rebecca Fuller of Valley, AL; grandchildren, Zoey & Eva Fuller of Dallas, GA and Dawson Daughtrey of Valley; parents, Cynthia & Bobby McWhorter and Jerry & Shirley Abercrombie all of Lanett; and her brother, Robert Abercrombie of Valley.

Bluffton Funeral Services announces the passing of the following:


John Will Phillips, Jr., of Lanett, Alabama passed away on October 3, 2022, at Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama.


Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 6th, at Bluffton Funeral Services in Lanett with the Reverend Chris Gagnon officiating.


Mr. Phillips was born on December 15, 1935, in Huguley, Alabama to John W. Phillips, Sr., and Lorene (Peg) Jones Phillips. Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his wife of forty-nine years, Shirley (Carlisle) Phillips, a son John W. Phillips III, a daughter Peggy Phillips Broz, twin daughters, and a brother Robert D. Phillips.


He is survived by his daughter, Regina (Gina) Phillips Herrington and Dave, his grandchildren Zachary Broz and Cherish of Robertsdale, AL, Hannah Broz of Lillian, AL, and Shaina Adamson and Josh of Lanett. His great-grandchildren include Grayson Broz, Aksel Broz, and DeClan Broz, of Robertsdale, Al., and Reese Adamson of Lanett. Mr. Phillips is also survived by his sister-in-law’s, Anne Phillips and Sandra Carlisle, and brother-in-law, Walter Brown, son-in-law John Broz, step-grandaughters Kelcie Herrington, and Dylan Vallia, Bentley Herrington and Kaleb Floyd, Mady Herrington and Conner Hamby and Kylan Vallia. Mr. Phillips is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Phillips was a graduate of Lanett High School and attended the University of Alabama. He was stationed in Alaska during his time in the Army. He loved Alabama football and NASCAR. Other hobbies included hunting and fishing. He worked at Lanier Mill until he started his own construction business. He was retired and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

The small but mighty Sandra Love passed away in the comfort of her home Wednesday, October 5, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.


Sandra is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Betty Prestidge and granddaughter Kala.


Sandra leaves behind her adoring husband, Randy, with whom she shared many blissful years. Her siblings are James Prestidge; his wife Tina, and Becky Lowery.

A proud mother, Sandra, will be missed by her children Michael Love; his wife Jessica, Michelle Holley; her husband Luke, and Brandy Love. Her grandchildren Awesome Autumn, Big Boy Michael, Brianna, Isaiah, Brittany, and Hayden as well as her great-grandchildren Jonah and Evee will always remember the love their Granny shared.

Sandra was admired by all and touched many lives. Family and friends forever remember the cherished memories shared with her.

Buck Sanders age 56 of Ridge Grove, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. Buck was born January 11, 1966, to Vinson and the late Martha Sanders. He was the owner of Sanders Logging.


Graveside service will be held at Center Baptist Church Saturday, October 8, at 11:00 am with the Rev. Jimmy Allen officiating.


He is survived by his wife of 31 years Tina Belcher Sanders; son Jake (Brittany) Sanders; he was known as Big Papa to his grandchildren: Jana, Presley, Wilder, and Brayden; brother and his family: Robert (Aleida) Sanders, Britten, and Sawyer; sister and her family: Stephanie (Keith) Meigs, Lance (Erica) Meigs, Hunter, Tiffany (Jonathon) Pitchford, Jadon, and Clara Ann; sister and her family: Stacie Popwell, Tyler and Samantha; and also, many friends that he considered family.


He is preceded in death by his son Austin Sanders and his mother Martha Sanders.
