Johnson Brown announces the passing of the following:


Roger E. Miller, 57, a resident of Autaugaville, Alabama passed into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, surrounded by his family.


Roger was born on December 4, 1964, in Opelika, Alabama.


Roger was a member of Centerpoint Fellowship Church. He was a man of great faith and he loved the Lord Almighty. He went on several mission trips abroad doing the work of the Lord by helping others and teaching them about Christianity. He was very family oriented and loved his family.


He attended Auburn University majoring in Graphic Design.


Roger was an “antiquer” by trade and he enjoyed searching for antiques in remote places, yard sales, online, and through others who traded in antiques. He also enjoyed squirrel hunting with his family.


Roger is survived by his wife of 22 years, Luchie Finney Miller; parents, J.W. Miller and Shirley Miller; siblings, Janet (Stacy), Brian (Sandy), Sharon (Curt); numerous nieces, nephews, great-nephews, great-nieces, and other extended family members and friends.


Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley with interment following in Beulah Cemetery. The Reverend Rick Hagans officiating. His family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 P.M. EDT until the service hour.

Mrs. Veronica Jones Harville, a resident of Peachtree City, GA., and former resident of Valley, AL, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Piedmont Fayette Hospital, Fayetteville, GA.

Mr. Rufus Williams, a resident of Hogansville, GA., and native of West Point, GA, who passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022, at Oak View Nursing Home, Waverly Hall, GA.

Public Viewing is scheduled for Friday, September 23, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. (EST) at Davis Memorial Mortuary Chapel, 305 W. F. Burns Drive, Valley, AL 36854.

Mr. Freeman Presley, Sr. 78 of LaFayette, AL passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.


Public Visitation will be held Friday, September 23, 2022, from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM CST at Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home Chapel in LaFayette, AL.


Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 1:00 PM CST at New Canaan Missionary Baptist Church in Camp Hill, AL, Pastor Justin M. Freeman, Officiating; Rev. Quinderus Jones, Eulogist.


Burial will follow in the church cemetery.


Mr. Presley is survived by a devoted wife of 54 years, Malvin Mae Presley of LaFayette, AL; his daughters, Jennifer (Stacy) Trimble of Montgomery, AL and Marilyn (Henry) Dorsey of Lanett, AL; seven grandchildren: Zy’Quez, Quanisha, and Quandarious Mitchell, all of LaFayette, AL, Alexus, Stacy (Mane), Ayden Trimble, and Xavier Phillips, all of Montgomery, AL, two great-grandchildren: Zylan Grace Phillips and Tashun Trimble; four brothers: Robert (Marga) Presley of Camp Hill, AL, Milton Presley of Decatur, GA, Larrah (Ruby) Presley and Winfred Presley, both of LaFayette, AL; three sisters: Beverly Terry of LaFayette, AL, Hattie (Walter) Wilson of Auburn, AL, and Bulanda Presley of Newnan, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.


Mr. De'Angelo E. Davis, 50 of Camp Hill, AL passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 12 Noon CST at Pleasent Ridge Baptist Church in Dadeville, AL, with Pastor Jimmy Allen, Officiating.
