Johnson Brown Funeral Home announces the passing of Harold Grant May, Jr.,who passed on May 12th, at St. Martens in the Pines Hospice in Birmingham, AL. He was the son of the late Harold Grant May, Sr. and Marie Baldwin May. He is survived by his sister, Carole Diane May and his aunt, Jewel May of Huntsville, and many cousins.


Grant was a graduate of the University of Alabama where he was a member of Chi Phi fraternity. Having a lifelong love of flowers and design, Grant worked at several Birmingham florists before purchasing Park Lane Flowers in English Village and Crestwood in Birmingham. He served many loyal customers and was published in Southern Lady, Tea Times, Victorian Lady and Southern Living Christmas Books.


Private graveside services will be held at Resthaven Cemetery with the Reverend Chuck Anderson officiating. Donations may be made to Shawmut First Baptist Church or to the American Cancer Society in his memory.
