Johnson Brown Funeral Home announces the passing of Mr. Robert “Wayne” Birditt, age 72, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, April 27th, 2022 in Opelika, Alabama. He was born on November 13th, 1949 at the Langdale Hospital in Langdale, Alabama.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mattie Brannon Birditt; son, Rodney (Wendy) Birditt; daughter, Amanda Shea Rhodes; granddaughter, Katelin (Colby Crowe) Rhodes; grandsons, Reilly, Bailey, and Zachary Birditt; great grandsons, Brycen Green and Colt Crowe; sister, Donna (Rusty) Huffman; nephews, Mark Birditt and Jordon Huffman; special friend, Brayden Green; his fur babies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Rob” Birditt and Annie Lee Birditt; step-father, Charles Gibson; brother, Tony Lee Birditt.
Wayne was a member of Three Pines Independent Church. He was a jack of all trades and an avid painter who enjoyed working, flying airplanes, driving race cars, canoeing, camping, fishing, and working with the Boy Scouts of America. He loved his fur babies.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 30th, 2022 at 2:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. The Reverend Wayne Prickett and the Reverend Danny Shurett will officiate. Wayne’s family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation, www.kidney.org or to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org in memory of Wayne.

Johnson-Brown also announces the passing of Calvin Presler, 93, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at the EAMC Lanier Nursing Home in Valley, Alabama.
Mr. Presler was born on June 11, 1928 in Peachland, North Carolina to the late Frank and Naomi Stegall Presler. He was a graduate of Peachland High School and he attended Pfifer College. He worked as a Carman for CSX Railroad until his retirement.
Calvin was a Master Mason and a longtime member of Hamlet Lodge Number 532, where he served as Master of the Lodge. He was a Shriner and a member of Oasis Temple. Calvin was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Hamlet, where he took great pride in greeting morning worshipers.
After his retirement, Calvin and Demetra moved to Ledbetter Lake where they became a part of a loving and embracing community. They enjoyed many good years in their home there.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Demetra Coward Presler and their daughter, Peggy Ruth Presler; his siblings, Ila Mae Presler, Helen Presler Ingram and Jack Lloyd Presler.
He is survived by his daughter, Debra Presler Clark (Rea); granddaughter, Amber Clark Nobles (Greg); three beloved great grandsons, Oliver, Owen, and Patrick Nobles. Calvin always insisted that his grandsons made him “Great”.
A memorial service is tentatively scheduled for Friday, May 6, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Hamlet, North Carolina.

James Lanier Keith, 66, of Gainesville, Ga., a native of West Point and a loving son, brother and friend, died Monday, March 2, 2020 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness.
Jim was born February 8, 1954, son of the late Joseph Allen Keith Sr. and the late Iris Lanier Keith. He was preceded in death by his younger brother, John Duncan Keith, and his older brother, Joseph Allen Keith Jr., with whom Jim shared his home as a loving and tireless caregiver during Joe’s final illness in 2013.
A graduate of West Point High School’s Class of 1972, Jim was a talented multi-sport athlete, especially gifted in baseball. After graduation he continued to play baseball at Southern Union State Community College, where he was scouted by several major league organizations, and later at the University of Georgia. Jim spent an almost 40-year career as a sales representative for the telecommunications industry in the Atlanta and Gainesville areas.
Jim loved golf, sports of all kinds (especially Georgia football and Braves baseball), and the fellowship of an enormous circle of friends. “Jim always made it look easy,” said Scott Crook, a longtime friend from both West Point and Athens, “as an athlete, and as a friend. His goodness was understated, but he was always there if you needed him.”
He is survived by a niece, Caroline Elizabeth Keith of Columbia, S.C.; a nephew, John William Lanier Keith, serving with the U.S. Air Force in Guam; a loving sister-in-law, Donna Hull Keith of West Point; and countless friends in Athens, Gainesville, Atlanta, and the Chattahoochee Valley.
Graveside Service will be held at Marseilles Cemetery in West Point Georgia on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 10:00 am EST.

Michael Wayne (Mike) Turner,68, of Lauderdale-by the Sea, Florida passed away on September 21, 2021.
Michael was born on August 21, 1953 to the late Hugh L Turner Sr. and Ruth Thompson Turner.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his paternal grandparents Marvin P and Agnes P Turner; his maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Julius A. Thompson; and his beloved Aunt Doris J Turner.
Mike is survived by his daughters Carley T. (Corey) Rabazinski of Orlando Florida, and Lauren T (Thomas) Leona of Nashville, TN; grandchildren Emma Rabazinski, Emmy Rabazinski, Mason Rabaniski, and Mack Leona. ; brothers Hugh L (Christine) Turner of Fort Lauderdale Florida, Marvin P (Marci) Turner of Lanett, Alabama; sister Elana (Bridget) Turner-Brady of Thomasville Georgia; mother of his children Jane Turner Fogarty of Fort Lauderdale Florida; and Life Long Friend Morgan (Jane) Cantey of Knoxville, TN.
Michael Graduated from WPHS in 1969. He Played several sports, was in the HI-Y club and had 12 years of perfect attendance. From there he attended East TN. State University. Michael then moved to Pittsburg, PA. where he was food & Beverage Manager at Alleghany racetrack for the Ogdon Food Service Company. After a year he was promoted to General Manager of “Painters Mill Dinner Theatre” in Baltimore, Md. After two years Michael decided to open his own restaurant with his friend Morgan and his brother Marvin. “Cacao Lane” was established in Ellicott City, Md. Surviving a flood from a hurricane, “Cacao Lane” was very successful, but Michael needed another challenge, so he purchased the “Potthass Building” on N. Charles St. in downtown Baltimore where he opened “The Brass Elephant”, an Extraordinary Opulence setting with a continental cuisine.
Michael missed the south and wanting to be closer to his family so he sold the restaurant and moved to FT. Lauderdale near his older brother Hugh. Mike founded and started “POS International”, a point-of-sale software company. There he met the mother of his children Jane Barlow. At the time of his passing, he was CEO and President of POS' myriad of companies.
A Memorial Service honoring Michael will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:30 am EST at Bluffton Funeral Services in Lanett Alabama. The family will greet friends at 11:00 am EST also at Bluffton Funeral services.
