Patience Nicole Hornsby, age 26 of Lanett, AL was charged with Failure to Appear for Domestic Violence 3rd through Lee County Sheriff’s Office

Ramaya Monae Hurston, age 24 of Lanett, AL was charged with Possession of Marijuana 2nd

Nya Kavon Aryana Drake, age 24 of Cusseta, AL was charged with Failing to Appear – Traffic for Driving while Suspended

Joshua Adam Conway, age 36 of Lanett, AL was charged with Failure to Pay for Domestic Violence 3rd

Anthony Jabrowski Booker, age 29 of Lanett, AL was charged with Possession of Marijuana 2nd, Public Intoxication, Failing to Appear – Traffic for No Driver’s License, and Failure to Pay on the charges of Receiving Stolen Property 4th and Carrying a Pistol without a Permit

Bluffton Funeral Services announces the passing of the following:


John Will Phillips, Jr., of Lanett, Alabama passed away on October 3, 2022, at Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama.


Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, October 6th, at 2:00 PM at Bluffton Funeral Services in Lanett with the Reverend Chris Gagnon officiating.


Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Graveside services will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett.


Mr. Phillips was born on December 15, 1935, in Huguley, Alabama to John W. Phillips, Sr., and Lorene (Peg) Jones Phillips. Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his wife of forty-nine years, Shirley (Carlisle) Phillips, a son John W. Phillips III, a daughter Peggy Phillips Broz, twin daughters, and a brother Robert D. Phillips.


He is survived by his daughter, Regina (Gina) Phillips Herrington and Dave, his grandchildren Zachary Broz and Cherish of Robertsdale, AL, Hannah Broz of Lillian, AL, and Shaina Adamson and Josh of Lanett. His great-grandchildren include Grayson Broz, Aksel Broz, and DeClan Broz, of Robertsdale, Al., and Reese Adamson of Lanett. Mr. Phillips is also survived by his sister-in-law’s, Anne Phillips and Sandra Carlisle, and brother-in-law, Walter Brown, son-in-law John Broz, step-grandaughters Kelcie Herrington, and Dylan Vallia, Bentley Herrington and Kaleb Floyd, Mady Herrington and Conner Hamby and Kylan Vallia. Mr. Phillips is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Mr. Phillips was a graduate of Lanett High School and attended the University of Alabama. He was stationed in Alaska during his time in the Army. He loved Alabama football and NASCAR. Other hobbies included hunting and fishing. He worked at Lanier Mill until he started his own construction business. He was retired and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Funeral arrangements are pending for Mr. Michael Dupree Canady, 51, of Dadeville who passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at Lake Martin Community Hospital, Dadeville.
