Johnson Brown announces the passing of the following:

Joshua Adam Barber, age 30, of the Valley passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022.

Joshua was born in LaGrange, Georgia on October 19, 1991, to James “Jamie” Barber and the late Rebecca Sanchez. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents Herbert and Dorothy Windsor and Margie Wilder and Jack S. Barber, Sr.

Joshua lived each day for his two daughters, Millie and Zoey, who were the pride and joy in his life. He loved them more than we can ever express in a few words or a sentence.

Joshua was a man of great faith and he believed in the Lord Jesus Christ. He was known for providing aid and support to the most vulnerable and overlooked groups in society: the ones often considered to be the outcasts of society or just down on their luck in life that appeared to be beyond reach. Joshua believed in them and provided them with words of hope, compassion, and help when he could. Joshua Barber touched many people’s lives and changed the outcome for many people. For those that knew him and his symbolism, “Jesus Is King”. #JesusIsKing

From Joshua's wife, Taylor...

"I’d like to thank everyone for your kind messages and support during this family tragedy. The loss of my husband is something I didn’t think I’d be dealing with until we were very old. To say I am devastated is the biggest understatement. Grief has amplified everything and it all reminds me of him. While the nature of our present relationship was complicated, I am comforted knowing that both of our hearts were for the success of our marriage and family together. He loved me and I love him. I have loved Joshua Barber with my whole heart, and will continue to love him and hold his memory in my heart and in our daughters’ lives. I am more than confident I will see him again in Heaven. His spirit went to be with Abba because he loved Jesus with all his might. I am proud to be his wife and mother to his children. His legacy is not only our daughters, but the many lives he touched in life and now it seems the thousands he is reaching in his passing. Heaven will gain many more souls and I know he is celebrating with all of Heaven at that.

As Josh was a “come as you are” kind of man, we want everyone to dress how they feel best. Come as you are, we welcome you.

In fact, any and everyone is welcome to come and pay their respects to my husband at the visitation and at the funeral service itself. We ask that family and close friends join us at the burial site following the funeral service. Please feel free to share this so that we can get the word out. Thank you. #JesusIsKing "

He attended the Summit Church.

He enjoyed fishing and he loved the University of Alabama football. Roll Tide!
