Mr. Charles Raymond Holley, Sr., age 92, of Talladega, Alabama passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at his residence.


Mr. Holley was born on March 12, 1930, in Alexander City, Alabama to the late James R. Holley, Sr., and Gertrude Hutchinson Holley. He was also preceded in death by his wife June Holley.


Mr. Holley was a member of the Blackberry Lane Community Church in Talladega, Alabama.

He proudly served in the United States Military and retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years of service for his country.


Mr. Holley loved playing golf and he qualified for the PGA Pro status. He played on some of the greatest golf courses around the world. He achieved the status of a certified PGA Greens Superintendent and he helped design and built several golf courses in the state of Alabama.

He is survived by his children Charles Raymond Holley, Jr. (Jackie), Alan Rice Holley (Deborah), Richard Bradley “Brad” Holley (Lisa), David L. Holley (Denise), Katherine Ann Holley, 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild.


Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley with interment following in Johnson Memorial Gardens. His family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Wednesday one hour prior to the service. His sons Charles, Alan, and Brad Holley will deliver the eulogy.
