Occasionally he enjoyed getting in his mother’s kitchen or firing up a grill and surprising everyone with a delicious meal. He will be greatly missed.

David is survived by his wife, Amanda; his parents, Bobby and Donna Abney of Huguley, AL; sisters, Myah Abney of Atlanta, GA., and Gena Rogers of Anderson, SC; brothers, Shayne Abney (Breanna) of the Hopewell, AL Community, Trace Abney of Huguley, AL, and Robbie Abney of Anderson, SC; great aunt, Betty “Boo Boo” Mason; special close friend and her children that referred to David as “Big Daddy”, Jillian Ray and Taylor Foster & Brynlee Teague.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jonathan Abney; grandparents, Calvin and Martha Abney and Gene and Dorothy Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 4th, 2022 at 2:00 PM (EDT) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
