Johnson Brown announces the passing of the following:


Phillip “Neal” McCain, 59, of Opelika, Alabama passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022, in Opelika, Alabama.


Neal was born on May 16, 1963, in George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in Langdale, Alabama to the late Donald Earl McCain, Sr., and Mary Jane Kelley McCain.


Neal was a loving husband, uncle, great uncle, and brother along with being a diehard Auburn fan. He also enjoyed reading, NASCAR, college football, and watching the Atlanta Braves.


He is survived by his wife of 37 years Tinker L. McCain; brothers, Timothy Allen McCain (Cherie McCain) of Valley, Donald Earl McCain, Jr. of Cusseta.


Neal graduated from Valley High School in 1981. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Programming and Business Administration from Troy State University.


Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Fairfax Cemetery. The Reverend Carl Benedict officiating.

Mr. Larry “Bulldog” Haynes, age 66, of Valley, Alabama passed away at the Piedmont Midtown Medical Center on Saturday, September 24, 2022.


Larry was born in Opelika, Alabama on March 19, 1956, to the late Robert Denny Haynes and Gladys Tidwell Haynes. He was also preceded in death by siblings Kenny Haynes and Gwen Smith, and a brother-in-law, Roger Boyd.


Larry absolutely loved and was fascinated with the iconic 57 Chevy. He also enjoyed video games, crafts, and fishing. He held a special place in his heart for all animals, especially his furbabies.


He is survived by his son, Michael Cook (Asheley Cook); grandchildren, Jakob Cook, and Gypsy Cook; siblings, Sheila Boyd, Debbie East (Gary), Sonya DeNigris, Chris Haynes (April); sister-in-law, Linda Haynes; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.


Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at 2:30 P.M. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel with interment following in Harmony cemetery.

Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home announces the passing of Mr. Jimmie Lee Trammell, Sr. 79 of Stone Mountain, GA passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA.


Public Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, from 2:00 PM EST until 6:00 PM EST at Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home in LaFayette, AL.


Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 1:00 PM EST at Hillcrest Gardens Cemetery in Lanett, AL, with Reverend Bradley A. Gibson, Officiating.

He leaves to cherish his many loving memories; spouse, Gertie Trammell (Stone Mountain, GA); children, Jimmie Trammell, Jr. (Stone Mountain, GA), Denise Trammell (Stone Mountain, GA), and Tara (Howard) Trammell (Sumter SC); two sisters, Carolyn Board (Louisville, KY) and Jurlann Bell (Louisville, KY), three brothers, Charles (Karen) Trammell (Chicago, IL); William (Carol) Jackson (Louisville, KY) and Eddie Trammell (Louisville, KY), devoted sister and brother-in-law Joyce (Marvin) Ferrell (Stone Mountain, GA), special nephew Kerry Jackson (Louisville, KY), and a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.

Bluffton Funeral Services announces the passing of Mrs. Margie Stevens Hinkle, 93 of Lanett passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022, at Valley Park Manor, Valley, Alabama.


Margie was born on May 28, 1929, in Milltown, Alabama to the late Joseph Henry Stevens and Lennie Ragsdale Stevens House.


She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Mark Tillery, and granddaughter, Crystal Burdette. Margie was the wife of the late W. J. Hinkle for 55 years.


She is survived by her daughters Cynthia Tillery of Valley and Janet (Ruben) Burdette of Lanett; sons Gary (Lynn) Hinkle, Lanett, Alabama, Don (Becky) Hinkle of Kennesaw, Georgia and Phillip (Roxann) Hinkle of Big Canoe, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Linsey Flitcroft, Tate Hinkle, Allison Warrington, Brian Hinkle, Lance Burdette, Grant Hinkle, and Jenna Welborn. She was also blessed with 13 great-grandchildren.


Margie was a wonderful loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed reading and quilting. She will be truly missed and always be close to her family’s heart.

She was an active member of Lanett Methodist Church and the Young at Heart group. She truly loved her Church family and friends.


Services were held on Monday, September 26, 2022; visitation at 1:00 pm EST with Funeral Services at 2:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church of Lanett with Rev. Russell Williams and Rev. Jonathan Herston officiating.
