Johnson-Brown announces the passing of Mr. David (Buddy) Henry Lane age 73, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at his home. A memorial service will be held at Langdale United Methodist Church in Valley, Alabama on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. EDT. The Reverend Tim Alexander officiated. His family will be receiving friends at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. EDT until 11:00 A.M. EDT.

Mr. Lane is survived by his wife, Rita Redden Lane, his children, David Joseph (Tracie) Lane, Sr., of Salem, Alabama; his daughter, Lisa Lane (Wayne) Fitzgerald of Sharpsburg, Georgia; five grandchildren, Elisabeth Spradlin, Riley Spradlin, Laney Fitzgerald, Madison Lane, David Joseph Lane, Jr.; one brother, Billy Joe (Sharon) Lane of Milton, Florida; one sister, Susan (Bob) Winkler of Huntsville, Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews.


Mr. Lane was preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn Vinson Lane and Henry Howell Lane.

Mr. Lane was born on December 4, 1948, in Eastaboga, Alabama. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Lane retired from Georgia-Alabama Supply Company in 2010 with 36 years of employment. He was a member of Langdale United Methodist Church for over 50 years. He was a member of the ACTS Sunday School Class and had served on the Board of Trustees, Staff Parish Relations, the Administrative Board, Men on a Mission, the Soup Kitchen, and the Bread Basket. He also served in many areas of the Central Alabama Emmaus Community. He was a volunteer coach for many years for the Valley Recreation in baseball, softball, and basketball.

He was a devoted husband, father, and Papa.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in his memory to the Langdale United Methodist, Alabama Children’s Home, or Chattahoochee Hospice.

Johnson-Brown also announces the passing of Mr. Frank Hugh Daniel, 84, a resident of Valley, AL, and the Shawmut community died Sunday, March 13, 2022, at his residence.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM EST Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Ridge Road Baptist Church with Rev. Stephen McClain officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM EST at the church.

Survivors include his children, Roy (Betty Joyce) Daniel, Harold (Sherry) Daniel, Lorene Daniel, Debra Daniel, & Ronald (Melissa) Daniel; seven grandchildren, Lou (Jody) Buckner, Chad (Ashley) Daniel, Patti (William) Jones, Josh (Megan) Daniel, Shannon (Aaron) Hester, Lauren Daniel, & Michael Brewer; 12 great-grandchildren, Hailey Buckner, Jacob Daniel Luke Daniel, Noah Daniel, Jana Daniel, Dillion Smith, Logan Smith, Alexis Rowe, Brooklyn McArdle, Skylar Hester, Starlet Hester, & Amber Hester.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Amos & Mary Etta Daniel, his wife, Lavada Daniel, son, Charlie Daniel, and grandsons, Patrick Prestridge & Brad Daniel.

Mr. Daniel was born on May 6, 1937, in Chambers County, Alabama. He worked for West Point Pepperell. He served in the Alabama National Guard from 1954 to 1962. He was a member and Deacon at Ridge Road Baptist Church.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Ridge Road Baptist Church Playground Fund.

Ruby Jo Davis, age 86, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022, at her residence.


Mrs. Davis was born in Langdale, Alabama on May 17, 1935 to the late Bunch and Bobbie Cole. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Lamar Davis, brother, Robert Cole, and daughter-in-law, Shirley Hood Davis.


Mrs. Davis was a member of Sunset Heights Baptist Church. She loved her family and she loved her church family.


Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 2:00P.M. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel with interment following in Hillcrest Cemetery. The Reverend Steve Langley officiating. Her family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00P.M. EDT until 2:00P.M. EDT.


She is survived by her children, Mike Davis, Gary (Beth) Davis, Jeff (Tammy) Davis, Billy Wayne (Rhonda) Davis, Keith (Teresa) Davis; grandchildren, J.B. Davis, Kim Bozeman, Russell Davis, Brooks Davis, Annie Hooks, Brandi Burrows, Heather Smith, Brandy Milford, Melissa Copeland, Kendall Yates, Anzley Davis, Jonathon Davis, Andrue Davis; great-grandchildren, Kelsey Davis, Allie Davis, James Bozeman, Ryan Bozeman, Emmalyn Bozeman, Victoria Davis, Vincent Davis, Valeia Davis, Oliver Davis, Finlay Ruth Hooks, Selah Pearl Hooks, Israel James Hooks, Ezra Anne Hooks, Lexus Burows, Bubba Burrows, Alyssa Burrows, Garrett Burrows, Landon Smith, Addison Smith, Britley Thrower, Brooklyn Hewitt, Maciah Flournoy, Jalyn Copeland, Rylie Yates, Dixon Yates, Leigha Tullock, Liam Davis; great-great grandchildren, Baxton Thrower, Lillian Burrows; numerous extended family members and friends.


Flowers will be kindly accepted or the family requests that memorial donations be made in Mrs. Davis’ memory to Chattahoochee Hospice.

Vicky Brown-Jones, 68, of Valley, AL was born in Chambers County on February 5, 1954. She passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022.


Vicky went into the textile industry soon after high school and remained there until it closed. She then went to work at Lanier Hospital where she became the Environmental Manager. She remained there until she retired in 2017.


Vicky was a sweet, mild-mannered person that everyone loved. She will be missed by all that knew her.


A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
