David Lee McCall, 57, of Lanett, Al was arrested for Failure to Pay - Carrying Pistol without a License

Robert Lorenza Kirby, 52, of Valley, Al was arrested for Failure to Pay - Possession or Sell of Precursor Chemicals


From Lanett


Dieondre LaQuinton Hutchinson, age 23 of Lanett, Al was charged with Failure to Appear x 2 (Possession of a Controlled Substance and Public Intoxication)

Amanda Michele Thornton, age 39 of Lanett, Al was charged with Criminal Trespass 3rd


Lanett police also reported the following incidents:


Theft of Property 4th was reported in the 1400 block of S Gilmer Ave.

Shooting into Occupied Dwelling was reported in the 1200 block of 15th Pl Sw.

Robbery 1st was reported in the 4800 block of Veterans Memorial Parkway

Kayla Sharyce Heard, 25, from Valley, AL was arrested for Attempted Murder.

Danielle Denise Summers, 38, from Valley, AL was arrested for Failure to Appear for Traffic Charges.

Joey Antonia Pye, 43, from Camp Hill, AL was arrested for 4 Counts of Failure to Appear on Traffic Charges.

Patience Nichole Hornsby, 26, of Valley, AL was arrested for Theft of Property 4th Degree.

Russell Williams, 55, from Lafayette, AL was arrested for Obstruction of Governmental Operations.


Valley Police also reported the following incidents:


Theft of Property 3rd Degree was reported in the 2000 Block of 29th Boulevard.

Criminal Surveillance was reported in the 2900 Block of 19th Place.

Domestic Violence 3rd Degree was reported in the 100 Block of Greenberry Circle.

Johnson Brown Funeral Home announces the passing of Mr. Owell Gene Harmon, 75, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Monday, June 13, 2022, at his residence.


Gene was born on December 1, 1946, in Randolph County, Alabama to the late Grover Harmon and Mae Craven Harmon.


He loved the University of Alabama football…Roll Tide! He also enjoyed almost any type of sport including playing cornhole, horseshoes, and being on the golf course. During his tenure working at Fairfax Mill, he played on the company softball team and competed in the Mill tournaments. He enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and taking trips to different casinos.


He is survived by his wife Carol Ann Harmon, children, Linda Eagle, Pam Harmon, Mark (Mary) Harmon, Amy (Tommy) Whaley, Tonya Jarnagin, Richard Shaddix; siblings, Lowell Harmon, Donald Harmon, Roy S. Harmon; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022, at the Fairfax Congregational Holiness Church at 2:00 P.M. EDT. Visitation will be at the church on Friday from 1:00 P.M. EDT until 2:00 P.M. EDT.


In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Chattahoochee Hospice.

Johnson Brown Funeral Home also announces the passing of Mrs. Judy Faye Craven, age 70, of Beulah, Alabama passed away at home surrounded by her family on Friday, June 10th, 2022.


Judy was born on December 8th, 1951 in Tallassee, Alabama. She attended Fairfax First Baptist Church. She loved being outside, her flowers, and Diet Coke. She enjoyed taking care of everyone and was a big University of Alabama fan.


Judy is survived by her mother, Alma Bishop; son, Greg (Tiffany) Bishop, several grandchildren and, great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Freeman and Patty Bishop; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend, Helen Lafountain.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Craven; father, Forrest Bishop; brothers, Rodney Bishop and Johnny Bishop.


Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 14th, 2022 at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley.
