Charles Bernard Jones, 48, of Valley, AL was arrested for Grand Jury Indictment - Sexual Abuse of a Child under 12 years old

John Wesley Holloway, 36, of Lanett, AL was arrested for DUI

Darius Ricks, 33, of Valley, AL arrested for giving a False name to law enforcement.

A 13 -year-old Juvenile from Valley was arrested for Probation Violation.

Alice Bernice Bonner, age 74, of Valley, AL passed at EAMC-Opelika on Wednesday,

August 3rd, 2022. She was born on September 15, 1947, in Wisner, LA to

The late Leo & Audrey Wright.


She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Sonny Wright & Roger Wright, and her son, James Bonner.


Alice is survived by her daughter, Lisa Scott (Damon) of Valley, Al.; three

grandchildren, Brittany Bonner, of Valley, AL; Brandon Bonner (Margarita)

of Salem, AL, and Rebekah Shaddix (Josh) of Opelika, AL; her sister, Carolyn

Banderia of Brandon, Mississippi; her beloved life partner, Thomas Pintar

(aka)” Papa Tom”. For the past 20 years, he was the love of her life.


He spoiled her with trips around the world. She has four great-grandchildren, Kenadee Foster, Millie Jane Bonner, Barrett, and Eliana Bonner; along with nieces and nephews and bonus great-grandchildren.


She was called granny by all who knew and loved her. If you knew her, you

would only see the strong woman she was and she was our rock. It is now time for

us to be hers. She loved and served the Lord Jesus and was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church, in Valley.


Her hobbies were crafts, cooking, sewing planting flowers, and feeding her grand fur babies, Gus & Bella. She worked at West Point Stevens for many years.


She will be laid to rest in the Arms of Jesus on Friday, August 12, 2022, with a memorial service at 2:00 PM EST at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley, Alabama with Rev. Tim Bass officiating.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 11:00 am CST at Canaan Baptist Church in Roanoke (Welch Community), AL, Rev. Calvin Trammell, Pastor/Officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Mary L. Ware Gibson, 81 of Opelika, AL passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.


Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 2:00 PM CST at Flat Rock Baptist Church in Opelika, AL, with Pastor L. W. Myers, Officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
