An Opelika woman has been charged with murder. Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones issued the following press release on Monday.
"At approximately 12:57 am on August 8, 2022, Lee County Sheriff Communications received a 911 call reporting a possible shooting at a residence in the 200 block of Lee Road 705 located southeast of Opelika.
On arrival, Sheriff’s deputies made entry into the residence and located a 33-year-old deceased male who had suffered what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.
After further investigation, Shakeisar Peavy (38) from Opelika was developed as a suspect. She was arrested by Lee County Investigators and charged with murder. She is being held in the Lee County jail on a $250,000 bond", said Jones in a release to local media.
