Panthers Run Wild Over Barbor County To Close Out Regular Season

LANETT- The old adage is, 'it's not how you start, it's how you finish ... For the Lanett Panthers that saying couldn't be more true, where on Friday Lanett extended their winning streak to three as they dominated the Barbour County Jaguars 52-0 from Morgan-Washburn stadium on Senior night.
Out of the gate, the Panthers ran their way to a big lead, and never looked back as Lanett racked up 353 rushing yards. Panthers Kejaun "Fat" Greene, Braylon Chambers, and Elijah "La La" Whitfield had monster games.
Defensively, the Panthers were just as dominant. Panther Keonde Huguley led the team with 7 tackles. Donovan Dyer, and Tashawn Darden added 4 tackles a piece. Dyer also chipped in with two sacks.
"Tonight we had an opportunity to get better as a team and I think we did that. Our QB, Elijah Whitfield is getting better each week. We also found some guys who can play other positions and that will help us going into the playoffs", said Lanett Head Football Coach Clifford Story,
The Panthers who have their bye week will have an extra week off before heading into the playoffs as the number 4 seed in AHSAA 2A Region 3.
"This team is really young and has fought to position themselves to get in the playoffs, and as they say, you can’t win if you are not in", added Story.
Lanett will travel to Sylacauga to play Comer on Friday, November 4th. Kick-off is set for 8 pm, CST. 9 pm EST.
