Phillip “Neal” McCain Obituary



Phillip “Neal” McCain, 59, of Opelika, Alabama passed away on Friday, September 23, 2022, in Opelika, Alabama.


Neal was born on May 16, 1963, in George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in Langdale, Alabama to the late Donald Earl McCain, Sr., and Mary Jane Kelley McCain.


Neal was a loving husband, uncle, great uncle, and brother along with being a diehard Auburn fan. He also enjoyed reading, NASCAR, college football, and watching the Atlanta Braves.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years Tinker L. McCain; brothers, Timothy Allen McCain (Cherie McCain) of Valley, Donald Earl McCain, Jr. of Cusseta.


Neal graduated from Valley High School in 1981. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Programming and Business Administration from Troy State University.


Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Fairfax Cemetery. The Reverend Carl Benedict officiating. Neal’s family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. EDT until 7:30 P.M. EDT.


Flowers will be graciously accepted or the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Venmo account @nealandtinker to assist the family.
