Rebels Extend Streak To Seven; Defeat Hooper Academy 42-7

LAFAYETTE- Make it seven in a row... On Friday, the Chambers Academy Rebels extended their winning streak to seven as they defeated Hooper Academy 42-7 from Torbert Allen Field. After losing their first two games, the Rebels have been on a tear, something Rebels Head Football Coach Jason Allen hopes continues as Chambers Academy gets ready for the postseason.

I'm Really proud of our ability to improve every week over the course of the last 7 wins. We have worked really hard to put ourselves in this position going into the postseason. To win 7 consecutive region titles is no small feat and there have been a lot of really good players who have contributed to such a great run.

It’s nice to know we won’t have to leave our home field in the playoffs. We should host Escambia in the first round of the playoffs, but first, we play a really good Glenwood team at their place to finish out the regular season. They are one of the top teams in the AISA this year and I’m really excited to see where our program is and how much we have improved since the beginning of the season", said Allen.

The Rebels again leaned on their running game as Chambers Academy rolled up 363 yards on the ground. Freshman Buster Coker led the Rebels with 120 yards on 3 carries and 2 touchdowns. Rebels Luke Tarver, Jacob Norgard, Eli Whorton, and Tyson Hewett all had a big too. Defensively, Ryan Ford led the Rebels with 7 tackles.

On Friday, Chambers Academy travels to Phenix City, to play the Glenwood Gators. Kick-off is set for 8 pm EST., 7 pm CST.
