LAFAYETTE- After starting out the season 0-2, the Chambers Academy Rebels are beginning to hit their stride. The Rebels routed the Crenshaw Cougars 38-6 Thursday night, and for the first time, this year is on a winning streak.

The Rebels jumped out to a 14-0 lead thanks to a running game that rolled up 414 yards and six touchdowns on the ground. The Chambers Academy ground game which included Running backs, Luke Tarver, Buster Coker, Tyson Hewett, and Braxton Yerta kept the Cougar's defense on their heels all night.

Quarterback Cole Baker was very efficient going 5/10 for 109 yards.

Combine that with a stingy, and opportunistic defense, and you have a dangerous team that is just getting better.

"Our team is starting to come together and develop an identity. We are playing a physical brand of football and our kids have really embraced it. We had over 400 yds rushing for the second game in a row which is really strong. Defensively, we were really good against the run and are improving each week. I think we have gotten our cleats in the ground so to speak and are really starting to build some momentum. I like where our team is at the moment. Next is homecoming vs Banks academy. They have a very athletic team that is gonna be a strong test for us", said Chambers Academy Head Football Coach Jason Allen.

Coming up next week, Torbert-Allen Field will be rocking as it is homecoming, and Chambers Academy will be shouting that Rebel Yell as Allen and his team will look to make it three in a row against Banks Academy.
