Rebels Run Past Escambia Academy 56-12, Move To Second Round In AISA Playoffs

Those Running Rebels, not just a term associated with Jerry Tarkanian's UNLV basketball teams in the 1990s, but rather a mindset for this year's Chambers Academy Football team, and that's exactly what the Rebels did last Friday as they ran past Escambia Academy 56-12 in the first round of the 2022 Alabama Independent School Association playoffs.

The game was a bit of a revenge game although Chambers Academy Head Football Coach Jason Allen doesn't like the term revenge, but rather just another game.

Regardless, Chambers Academy is rolling and will look to carry that momentum into Friday's showdown with Clarke Prep.

"We want to run the ball, stop the run, and minimize our mistakes. In other words, play Chambers Academy Football", said Allen.

The Rebels led by a strong running game, and a stout defense have won eight out of their last nine games after starting the season 0-2.

"The offensive line has been huge during this run, and I give a lot of credit to our guys up front", said Allen.

Friday's game will be played on a neutral field from Grove Hill, AL
