LANETT- On Monday's Lanett Council meeting, Mayor Jamie Heard announced Richard Carter as the City's Airport Manager. Carter who currently holds the position of Chief Deputy with the Chambers County Sheriff's Department, and is the department's pilot brings a wealth of experience to the job.
"As you know we have working at the airport and discussing the airport manager position in the committee. After completing the interviews, the committee made the recommendation to name Richard Carter as Airport Manager", said Heard.
The council was unified in its support of the decision of Carter as Lanett's Airport Manager.
" I'm Looking forward to this new adventure, It's going to be exciting, and I am excited to be working and seeing the City of Lanett, and Chambers County grow. After 32 years in Law Enforcement, I am ready to begin this new chapter", said Carter.
Richard Carter will start as the Lanett Airport Manager on November 1st.
