THREE BEULAH BUSINESSES BURGLARIZED



Earlier this week, three businesses in the Beulah were the victims of burglary. On Thursday, Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones issued a press release to Gator Media regarding the incidents.


"On the morning of March 23rd, 2022, Lee County Sheriff’s deputies responded to three separate businesses located in the 8000 block of U.S. Hwy. 29 North in the Beulah community in regard to burglaries.


The businesses were entered during the early morning hours of March 23rd and included the Las Margarita restaurant, His Place Nutrition Center, and the Dollar General store.


Property stolen consisted of U.S currency, bottles of alcohol, a cell phone, and cash register equipment. The total value of damage to businesses and property that were stolen was approximately $10,000.00. Surveillance video revealed images of a lone male being involved in the crimes and deputies were able to identify a possible suspect from the video", said Jones


The suspect, identified as a 14-year-old juvenile, was located in a mobile home in the general vicinity where the crimes took place. He was taken into custody where he admitted to stealing his grandmother’s vehicle and committing the burglaries.


The juvenile was arrested and charged with 3 counts of Burglary in the 3rd Degree, 1 count of Theft of Property in the 1st Degree, and 1 count of Theft of property in the 4th Degree. He was committed to the Lee County Youth Detention Center and the case will be presented to the Lee County Juvenile court for adjudication.
