Unity In The Community; Team W.H.I.P. & City Of Lanett Host Breast Health Walk Health Fair



LANETT- On Saturday, Team W.H.I.P. (Working with others in Pink) along with the City of Lanett for the Annual Breast Health Walk Community Health Fair in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.




The event kicked off from the Lanett Fountain as other cancer support groups also were raising awareness.


"It was so lovely to see unity in the community. Cancer doesn't discriminate, it tries to incriminate. With hope, love, & support we fight for a verdict to release the handcuffs of cancer", said Team W.H.I.P. Co-chief Executive Officer Narfunda Ross.


Breast Cancer Survivor Robin Gilbert was the Grand Marshall of the walk. Gilbert was joined by family, and friends as she led the walk from the fountain in Lanett to the Post Office in West Point, and then back to the fountain.




Afterward, the Fuller Center provided 200 free costumes for children, and Valley Pharmacy provided COVID, Flu vaccinations. Other health and wellness organizations were on hand including D Lane Insurance, Leigh Chambley with Viva Health, and the Circle of Care.
