VHS Soccer Team Getting Better

The Valley High soccer team played an extremely hard-fought game last night against Russell County. No goals were scored until the final few minutes, and while the Rams had plenty of shots on goal, none were able to fall in.

The final score ended in a one-to-nothing victory for the visiting Warriors.

To some watching, this seemed like an entirely different Valley team. The physicality and communication from the Rams were a night and day difference from their previous games.

First-year head coach William Elliott was still proud of his team.

"This one stings a little bit obviously. We always want to come out on top. That being said, I couldn't be more proud of the way our guys played and represented us tonight, said Elliott.

For the first time this season, we seemed to put it together. I can't wait to see how we take this and move forward to our next game. Also everyone please doesn't forget the girl's team. I'm excited to see how they can move forward to their next game as well. Please come out and support our players!", added Elliott.

The Rams continue their season next week on April 5th at Central Phenix City. The girl's team will play at 6:30 ET and the boys will follow at 8:30 ET. Both teams are still searching for their first win.
