Warren Thomas "Tommy" Cole Obituary

Warren Thomas Cole “Tommy”, age 76, of Lanett, formerly of Tuscaloosa, Alabama passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022, at his residence.
Tommy was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on December 24, 1945, to the late Gordon Hinds Cole and Kathryn Elaine Sailors Cole. He was also preceded in death by a grandson Ethan Stuart Chalpan.
He proudly and honorably served his country as a United States Marine and spent two years fighting for our country in Vietnam. He was awarded the solemn and distinct Purple Heart Medal for the sacrifices he made while serving in the line of duty.
Tommy was a strong family man and a man of strong faith. He was a hardworking man who provided for his family. He loved his family and he loved the Lord. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He adored his daughters and he was absolutely smitten with each of his grandchildren.
Before his health declined, Tommy and Diana enjoyed camping and traveling together across the United States. He was also an avid fan of the University of Alabama football team. Roll Tide!
Tommy is survived by his wife Diana Davis Cole, Lanett; daughters, April (Calvin) Turner, Lanett, Danielle (Keith) Kelley, Northport, Christina (Sean) Chalpan, Braselton, Georgia; sister, Barbara Hinds Cole, Peterson, Alabama; grandchildren, Abigail Hope Templeton, Damien Cole Templeton, Makayla Lynn Templeton, Steven Joseph Turner, Dylan James Turner, Kathryn Elaine Kelley, Layla Raine Kelley, Gabriel Isaac Cason, Sean Michael Chalpan, Elijah Matthew Chalpan, Keith Jameson Chalpan, Morgan Elizabeth Gertrude Garmon; nieces, Michele Moon Phares and Delina Christine Moon.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at 3:00 P.M. EST from the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley with an interment following in Johnson Memorial Gardens. The Reverend Albert Lyles will be officiating. His family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 P.M. EST until the service hour.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. CST at the Piney Grove Baptist Church, 12123 Sellers Lane, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35406.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Tommy’s memory to the American Heart Association, the National Kidney Foundation, or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
