As that famous song goes..it’s the most wonderful time of the year.”…but for some, that is not the case. When Jesus returned to heaven his mission was to proclaim good news to the poor, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captive and it became ours to continue.
Whether we give our money, our time, or both…giving is what Jesus wants us to do. We bless others because Jesus blesses us. Times are so hard right now, and many are struggling to make ends meet every day.
Look for ways to bless others whether it be taking items to a nursing home, or your local Senior Center for bingo prizes, or buying groceries for someone who is struggling in our community. We may not have as much as someone else, but we have what we need to continue Jesus’ mission until He returns.
Please make an effort this season to give gifts that point people to Jesus, the Greatest Gift this world has ever seen.
Lord, teach us how to serve one another. Help us to put the needs of others first, as you did for us. Show us ways to use our gifts to bless others. In Jesus' name, Amen
