On Saturday, February 26, 2022, William Ray Thompson, Jr. passed away at the age of 73.
Born on March 20, 1948, Ray grew up in Lanett, Alabama, the son of William R. and Louise Thompson.
He is survived by his two sisters, Diane Waites of Lanett, Alabama, and Evon Hackney (Don), of Fayetteville, Tennessee. He is also survived by three nieces and two nephews, as well as fourteen great-nieces and nephews.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, W. R. and Louise Thompson as well as his infant brother, Andrew Carey Thompson.
A private graveside service for Mr. Thompson was held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett, Alabama.
